Airukita's live in packs that can consist of 15 members or more. Some packs have been known to get past 20, though it is rare. Since the males are very territorial over their females. Only 3 male leads the pack. If there is more than 15 females in a pack the alpha male needs to accept more males in the pack. For it is to overwhelming for the male to protect all those females. Females are picky about how they are defended, they would leave the pack if the males couldn't defend them properly. A female can have up to three pups a litter, and can only breed once a season.Once the pup is old enough it will leave the pack, to become either a loner or join a pack. |
